You have to go in with appropriate expectations. It’s a toy camera that costs about $100, but the fun-for-price ratio is great.
Toy camera? More like “counterfeit” or “replica” or “imitation”, like those fake audio components you see in furniture stores. It looks like the real thing, but when you pick it up, it’s ridiculously, comically light. But being light is useful, toss it into your pocket and you forget it’s there until you want to grab a snapshot.

The distinctive feature of the Camp Snap camera is the lack of a screen to keep you “in the moment”. You won’t get any great pictures, but you’ll have fun taking them. The image quality isn’t as good as even a modest smartphone, but you get to take pictures without pulling out your phone, which almost always leads to using your damn phone when you’re trying to enjoy your vacation.
Here are a handful of pictures that we took with it on the vacation where I tried to use my damn phone less.
